I saw a couple of you tube videos (from different people) who had bad comments about the Stihl HP Ultra 2 cycle oil. One of them concerned an insufficient amount of oil film in the crankcase. (That person fixes chainsaws).

Understanding the Context

I have had a Stihl chainsaw go bad on me that had minimal hours on it... As in your case, the saw died almost immediately. I think it did this twice. I put it back on full choke, pulled once, then back to half choke, pulled and it started & ran fine.

Avoid negative people and Prophets of Doom, they always have a problem for every solution! I have a Stihl FS130, FS350, and FS550 that I want to be able to use string heads on. Yes I know the 550 is best suited to a blade which is fine but I still need a damn good string head for the others. I have a Stihl 26-2 head on the FS130 now but the thing keeps jamming, even with .095.

Final Thoughts

I am cutting heavy grass and small broadleaves. I need a damn good trimmer head for the Stihl FS130, FS350, and FS550 Earlier thread detailed how the old MS290 was hard to start and wouldn't keep running. My local Amish Stihl dealer took a gander and said the piston is scored and thus is junk. My question is if anyone has any experience with third party jug/piston assemblies from any reputable suppliers that... Correction: Stihl does not “recommend” a 32 inch bar on that saw, they specify that as the “maximum recommended” bar. I’d run a 24” bar on that saw, if it were mine.

It will balance fairly well, and won’t struggle when you bury the nose in hardwood. Over in the "Day Care" thread a conversation sprung up yesterday regarding the sad decline I have seen first hand of real dealers especially Stihl. It began when I replied to a comment by @stihl livin. Member @Loony661 replied and we discussed it.
